Friday Update 1-15-10

Friday Update
January 15th, 2010

It was great to see all of you after finally getting back from the holiday break. I hope you all enjoyed some restful time with your families. Now that we are back, this is the time of the school year that moves so quickly. It is vital to keep ourselves as organized and well-planned as possible. Please do your best to check yourselves and your workgroups against our main school calendars to make sure that everything is listed for everyone. Before planning anything, make sure to check for conflicts. It is also important to force ourselves to look ahead while also working in the present. Thanks for all you do every day and enjoy our holiday celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

-Two notices regarding AR-
*3-5 teachers- drawing slips for the i-pod have been put into your boxes. Please distribute to qualifying students per instructions that are attached.

*K-5 teachers- we are participating in the WS Dash baseball program this year. This is open to all students. A form letter has been put into the boxes of all grade chairs. Use as you wish. The kickoff is going to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 20. Bolt is a tall red character, younger children could be scared of him. Please use your judgement. We need to start at 1:30pm. Dewey's bakery is providing individually wrapped cookies for the kids. I am not sure how we will distribute these yet, but Nicole Skinner is open to suggestions.
