Friday Update
April 9th, 2010
On Wednesday of this week there will be a few people here from the central office to conduct a “SET” assessment on our school. This will evaluate how we are doing with our implementation of Positive Behavior Support. Please let your students know that there may be people asking them questions about their SOARing and earning eggs. Continue to do reminders about how to SOAR in the various areas of the school. Keep up the good work!
“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”

FYI/Reminders
-Please remember that due to continued issues with physical contact, football is no longer an acceptable activity during recess. Please remember to actively supervise at recess.
-The 2010 TWC Survey is on-line at http://www.ncteachingconditions.org/ - look for more information from Pateah East about how we can earn incentives for our school.
-The Teacher Notification of Intent web site is ready! The link is now up and available to teachers via the Employees page of the WS/FCS web site. All full-time teachers need to complete an intent form (we have a different process for part-time teachers). The deadline is April 16th.
- There has been some interest in forming a Southwest team to participate in the Hospice 5K/10K walk/run on Saturday, April 17. Please sign up and join the Southwest team at www.support4hospice.org .
- Please remember that the deadline to complete healthcare open enrollment is April 9.
-Teachers, it is time to sign up for the 4th Grade Animal Safari Day. The 4th grade will be hosting an Animal Safari on Wednesday, April 14th from 9-10 and 11:15-12:00. This is to celebrate the students’ hard work on their content writing animal research paper. The symphony happens to fall right in the middle of our safari so we are having to break up the time schedule. You can sign up for a time in the teacher's lounge. The times will be in 20 minute increments. Mrs. Garlow will e-mail you with your " jungle room assignment." We would love to have you go on a safari with us!
